Please join us for a thought-provoking discussion on the importance of preserving cultural heritage and identity with Cheyenne linguist Dr. Richard Littlebear.
Dr. Littlebear is President and Interim Dean of Chief Dull Knife College in the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, Montana. Dr. Littlebear actively promotes bilingualism, encouraging continued use of the Cheyenne language - and all indigenous languages - in reading, writing and oral expression. Through his own personal and professional experiences, he will relate the story of the Northern Cheyenne and their efforts to preserve the traditions and voices of their ancestors. The evening’s presentation launches The Ratner School’s partnership with the Northern Cheyenne Tribal School. Through experiential learning on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, students will have opportunities to connect, share and enhance their understanding of American History, Native American experience, and World Cultures.
THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
